On the afternoon of April 18, Professor Jeff M. Allen from the Department of Learning Technology of the University of North Texas addressed a lecture with the theme of Mobile Learning for Teaching Effectiveness and Sustaining Learning Innovation through Learning Resources in Xixi Campus of Zhejiang University. Students and teachers of the Department of Education Technology attended the lecture.
Professor Jeff M. Allen graduated from the Department of Professional Education of Pennsylvania State University as a Doctor, after which he started teaching at University of North Texas. As a contributing editor for many magazines such as Learning and performance Quarterly and Career and Technical Education, his fields covered the innovation of learning and technology, assessment of learning performance, the exploit of learning resources and mobile learning.
In the lecture, Professor Allen not only introduced his understanding towards core concepts of education technology like technology, learning, performance and the relation among them, but also listed several classic cases regarding the challenges and opportunities in the field of education triggered by the renovation in current information technology. He also pointed out that despite the difficulty on the construction of abundant learning resource pool, mobile learning would change the traditional classroom teaching to a great extent.
