Anthropology Institute Of Zhejiang University hosted the “International Conference Of the World Cultural Heritage In 2013” Successfully

 

During November 5 to 7, The second session of International Conference and the world cultural heritage of historical city landscape protection union in 2013 was held ceremoniously in Zijinggang campus of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.
   As one of the organizers, Anthropology Institute Of Zhejiang University invited professor Harriet Evans from Department of Social Science and Anthropology of Westminster University in UK, professor Sudo Kenichi, director of Japanese National Museum of Ethnology and other professors to take part in the conference. All of them were delivered a keynote report during the conference and participated the thematic round table meeting. At the same time, various forms of communication and dialogue activates were put forward between the guests and teachers and students of our school. These activates expand the international academic cooperation effect of the meeting.
   The opening ceremony aroused strong repercussions because of the film “The Last Dragon Festival”(by Kongshao Zhuang) provided by the Anthropology Institute. At the keynote report, experts all fully affirmed the important role of the film and television anthropology in the cultural heritage research and protection. Anthropology Institute joined the “Historical City Landscape(HUL) Protection Alliance” officially after accepted the invitation of it.
   During the meeting, Anthropology Institute hosted the Oriental forum lectures together with Oriental forum held by the Institute of Social Sciences of our school. Professor Shuming Huang from the Taiwan Central Academy of Ethnology Research Institute was imitated to held a report theme at “Anthropology: the possibility of interdisciplinary research”. Professor Huang shared his experience during his career with teachers and students who took part in the report. He also pointed out the purport of interdisciplinary study in anthropological by compared the features of education in anthropology between US and the Taiwan region.
   Besides, the Japanese National Museum of Ethnology and Museum of Art and Archaeology of Zhejiang University held several seminars, site visits and academic exchange activities together, and discussed on the aspects such as the construction of Zhejiang University, how to carry out research, collection and display better as well as feedback of education and society. In the end, they agreed to begin to build the two-way academic exchange system by sending their publications to each other.
