On the November 1st, at the invitation of the research institution of curriculum and teaching of Zhejiang University, Professor Thomas S.Popkewitz from the research institution of curriculum and teaching of the University of Wisconsin-Madison visited the School of Education and gave a lecture, the theme of which was The Non-practice of the Practical Knowledge in Educational Research, host by Associate Professor Zhang Wenjun.
Professor Popkewitz pointed out that in the changing social and cultural trend, people blindly pursue useful knowledge system and take it for granted that school education can cultivate social needed talents. In the research of education, however, blindness and limitations of this kind of education planning was inevitable.
The lecture was materially rich and profound in perspective, inspiring all the teachers and students present to reflect the grand blueprint and the practicalness of educational practice.
