Professor CHEN Yongmin, from University of Colorado, Honored to be Lecture Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program of Zhejiang University

 

On May 4, 2010, Ceremony of Professor CHEN Yongmin being Lecture Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program of Zhejiang University and his academic report were held in conference room 408 of College of Economics, ZJU. The ceremony was presided by Professor JIANG Yuexiang, vice dean of College of Economics. And LUO Weidong, vice president, LU Dongming, director of the Department of Personnel, JIN Xiangrong, administrative vice dean of College of Economics, HUANG Xianhai, vice dean of College of Economics, and some teachers and students attended the ceremony.

 

Professor JIN Xiangrong made an introduction to Professor CHEN’s experiences and academic achievements, conveying warm greeting to his arrival. Vice President LUO Weidong presented Letter of Employment and congratulated Professor CHEN’s being Lecture Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program, which he said was a great honor for Zhejiang University. Professor CHEN was expected to promote the construction and development of the discipline of economics of Zhejiang University, particularly the integration of Industrial Economics research of Zhejiang University with international standard. Professor CHEN made a brief speech of thanks and said that he was eager for further cooperation with Zhejiang University and to make a contribution to its development.

 

Professor CHEN enjoys an international reputation in the field of Industrial Economics, having published 29 papers on world-known journals with 6 on RAND Journal of Economics, 2 on Journal of Industrial Economics. Besides being the associate editor-in-chief of European Economic Review and Journal of Industrial Economics, Professor CHEN also acts as review for more than 30 important journals in the field of international economy and management.

 

After the ceremony, Professor CHEN made an academic report about Industrial Organization, which inspired a heated discussion among teachers and students.
