On May 1st, the Chair of the Board, World Leisure Organization Dr. Derek Casey held a meeting with the delegation of the Department of Physical Education, the College of Education, Zhejiang University in Birmingham. In order to ensure that the delegation had a better understanding of the British sports system, especially the operating mechanism of British college sports, he came all along from Scotland to the hotel.
During the conversation, Dr. Casey introduced the developing process of British public and competitive sports, focusing on a series of policies that the British Sports Committee and government enacted to balance the public, competitive and college sports in Britain since the mid-nineties of last century. Meanwhile, the delegation exchanged the opinion on the balanced development of public and competitive sports in China. It would be an enlightening meeting to the training of high-level Olympic athletes for Zhejiang University.
