A ceremony and academy forum for Professor Tony Morris from Victoria University, Australia to be the Distinguished Professor of Zhejiang University was held successfully

 

On September 18,2013, a ceremony & forum was held in Xixi campus, Zhejiang University. In this ceremony, professor Tony Morris from Victoria University, Australia was employed by Qiushi forum, Zhejiang University. Participants include Professor Xiaozhou Xu, dean of College of Education, Professor Xiaomei Lin, director of the Department of Physical Education and professor Jin Wang, director of Applied Psychology Interdisciplinary Research Center. In the ceremony hosted by director Jin Wang, Xiaozhou Xu, the dean of college of Educaton, issued Certificate and wore badge for professor Tony Morris. He also extended warm welcome and heartfelt thanks for Tony Morris to join Zhejiang University.

      

Professor Tony Morris is a famous expert who majors in sports psychology. As a teacher and the dean of Elderly Exercise Rehabilitation Research Center of Victoria University in Australia, Tony Morris is one of the pioneers of the field named “movement of personality” and “sport appearance”. He published 10 academic works and more than 200 research papers in international academic journals. And he has been invited to international meetings whose theme is about sports psychology. Nowadays, Morris is the chairman of Sports Psychology Association in Asia and the South Pacific, and he also acts as the editor of many SCI academic journal. Professor Morris force on the promotion of international academic talents’ training projects, carry on international cooperation between Universities in Asia and Europe. What’s more, he tries to explore innovative training model of international talents.
After the ceremony, Professor Tony Morris held an academic lecture whose theme is “Recent Development in Sports Psychology”. In the lecture, professor Morris introduced the  forefront development about current academic research in the field of sports psychology, focusing on three aspects such as mental toughness, flow in sport and imagery in sport. Professor Morris mainly explained the details about the definition of relevant concepts, research and development context, experimental methods, etc. His excellent performance won thunderous applause of students and teachers.
