On October 23, 2013, The ninth academic salon of The China Academy of West Region Development was held on the conference room in the Western Building. Tenured professor Zhao Dinxin gave an academic report for the teachers and students from The China Academy of West Region Development, School of Economics, School of Public Affairs and so on. The theme of the report was “Go west, new silk road and national security”.
Professor Zhao Dinxin talked about the history of the development of the Western area by showing the historical context of Chinese territory. He explained the strategic decision making and national security in western development program deeply, especially in the topic of building a “New Silk Road economic zone”, which was put forwarded by chairman Jinping Xi. Teachers and students gain a feast of ideas and expressed warm applause in the end.
