On the afternoon of March 12th, 2015, Professor Dr. Ronald Rousseau, President of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informatrics (ISSI), paid a visit to School of Public Affairs (SPA), Zhejiang University. This visit was in response to the invitation of Associated Professor Li Jiang from SPA.
Firstly, Prof. Rousseau attended the informatrics seminar of the Information Resources Management department, and gave respective comments and detailed instructions on speeches titled “Publication delay and impact factor”, “Academic evaluation of Non-English journals”, “Knowledge diffusion in China’s humanities and social sciences”, and so on.
After that, the ISSI president gave two lectures to the teachers and students of SPA, namely “Egghe’s g-index is not a proper concentration meas” and “Uncited papers, uncited authors and uncited topics: a case study in library and information science”. Students took active part in the Question&Answer section, and won the appreciation from Prof. Rousseau in terms of their rich background knowledge.
Born in Belgium in 1949, Prof. Dr. Ronald Rousseau won the Price Prize in 2001 and he is one of the founders of ISSI.
