On the afternoon of October 20th, Professor David Hogg, vice chancellor of The University of Leeds, together with the university’s other senior professors paid a visit to the School of Management (SOM), Zhejiang University (ZJU). Hu Zhengming, director of ZJU’s foreign affairs office, accompanied the visit. Professor Zhou Honggeng, Professor Xu Weiqing, Doctor Lin Shanshan and Doctor Wu Dong of SOM gave a warm welcome to the visitors.
During the visit, both parties made introductions of their colleges respectively. Professor Hogg introduced Leeds’ data analysis institute as well as other big-data-related organizations and methods from Leeds.
This visit promoted comprehensive communications of both parties and opinions were exchanged on projects including the Zhejiang-Leeds Institute. Besides, in-depth discussions on all probabilities of cooperation on big data research by both parties were conducted.
