During December 13 to 15, International Symposium for Regional Economy of China, Japan and South Korea was held in Yu Quan Campus of Zhejiang University. The guests attending this symposium were the president of Korean Institute of Regional Economics and Gyeongnam Development institute researcher Song Boo Yong, the sub-president of Gwangju Jeonnam branch of Korean Institute of Regional Economics and professor of Chonnam National University Kim I Tae, the director of Shanghai Office of Japan Fukushima Prefecture and other guests.
With the background of the increase of the uncertainty of the global economic development, the complication of politics and economics in East Asia, and the official launch of the negotiation among free trade region of China, South Korea and Japan, the symposium discussed the development of regions and cities in the three countries, industry promotion and industry transformation.
The symposium had been successfully held for seven years. With the effort of Chinese and South Korean scholars, the symposium had become an important institutional platform for scholars from China, South Korea and Japan to cooperate and exchange.
