To promote the construction of social science disciplines, to expand international exchanges and cooperation in the field of social science, and to accelerate the internationalization process of social science, Deputy Party Secretary Zhou Xiaodong led a delegation composed by Academy of Social Science Yu Xunda and persons in charge of College of Economics, College of Education, Guanghua Law School, School of Management and Department of Ideological and Political Theory visited London School of Economics, University of Cambridge, University of Nottingham and University of Leeds during November 18 to 25.
LSE is a famous social science research college, ranking the first in the UK and Europe. Mark Maloney, the director of the Department of Academic Exchanges of College of Economics, Professor Athar Hussain, the director of Asian Research Centre, and other faculties welcome the delegation in LSE. Both parties introduced the general situation of their own school, and discussed the educational and academic cooperation.
During the visit in Cambridge, Professor Charles Jones from Department of Politics and International Relations and Allen Swales who was in charge of Asian affairs received the delegation. The contents of conversation was mainly about two aspects, implementation of the college system combined with university system of Cambridge, and the international school in Cambridge.
University of Nottingham had a good foundation of substantive and cooperative education with the College of Economics of Zhejiang University. In the conversation, both sides agreed to operate CGEP that two schools had already established at first, and then enhanced comprehensive cooperation.
During the visit in Leeds, the delegation hold conversation with the team of Economics and Management, and team of Law, Education and Politics respectively. After generalizing their own school, two sides indicted the willingness of cooperation on students exchanges, international business, and innovation and entrepreneurship.
