On November 17 to 18, the second Spatial Economics International Symposium, initiated by China’s regional science association, organized by academic institutions such as Zhejiang University College of Economics, the Centre for Research on China and Global Economic Policy and World Economics magazine, was successfully held in Zhejiang University. As one of the pioneers of spatial economics, the famous economist Professor Masahisa Fujita attended the symposium and delivered a speech.
The conference had selected dozens of papers from over one hundred, and together with guests’, there were more than 40 papers submitted to the symposium. Several famous oversea spatial economics scholars from Europe, North America and East Asian, in conjunction with nearly 70 researchers of spatial economics from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Zhongshan University, Wuhan University, Beijing Normal University, , Harbin Institute of Technology and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, conducted a wide and profound discussion on the latest development of spatial economic theory and practice, China's industrial space reconstruction in the "post-crisis" period, the development of China's regional coordination and other issues.
The participants agreed that would be back together again at Wuhan University in 2013.
