On the annual meeting of American Society of Comparative Law on October 4 to 6, the Society approved the application submitted by Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University about entering American Society of Comparative Law by voting, as well as Vice Professor Jin Chengdong as a council member and journal editorial board member on behalf of Guanghua Law School. Then Guanghua Law School had officially become a member and the only Chinese member of American Society of Comparative Law.
American society of Comparative Law is an authoritative agency constituted by American University Law School, and some oversea universities’ law schools which have outstanding performance in comparative law. Today the society has 105 official members, including 100 American law schools, of which are the top 100 law schools in America, and 5 oversea law schools, they are University of Toronto Law School, National University of Singapore, Italian Trent Joe University Law School, Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University and Swiss Comparative Law Institution. The publication sponsored by this society American Journal of Comparative Law is also an authoritative and influential magazine of comparative law, which enjoys a high worldwide reputation. In addition, the society hosts several symposiums and exchanges of comparative law every year, attracting a lot attention from American and oversea scholars.
