Lee Benham, Professor from College Of Economics, University of Washington, Director of The Ronald Coase Institute, visited Zhejiang University and provided a series of excellent lectures.
On afternoon of May.14th, the first seminar in the theme of The Ronald Coase Institute,: Origins, Network, and New Research Topics was held in Room 418, College of Economics, ZJU. This lecture was hosted by Professor Cao Zhenghan. In the first lecture, Professor Lee Benham provided an brief introduction of main purpose of the establishment of the Ronald Coase Institute and also discussed about some recent research topics.
On afternoon of May. 15th, the second excellent lecture was held at Room 340, College of Economics, ZJU. This lecture was hosted by Professor Gu Guoda. Professor Lee Benham gave an lecture named “Producing Economic Research: High Transaction Costs and Alternative Structures”. Before he put up the speech, Professor Lee Benham focused on how to conduct an economic research. He provided us a wonderful presentation and various important suggestions about current research by vivid examples in tone of humor. Subsequently, Professor Lee Benham introduced his research on the topic of transaction costs, and talked to teachers and students by answering questions.
Professor Huang Xianhai, the Associate President of College of Economics, Professor Cao Zhenghan warmly greeted Professor Lee Benham and his wife Alexandra Benham.
