At 14:00pm of January 8th, 2011, the opening ceremony for the second GEP was held in Room 202 of the Art building in Xixi campus by School of Management. Executive vice president Wu Xiaobo, vice president Wei Longbao, Professor Chen Ling, deputy secretary of the party committee Ruan Junhua, GEP staff, and American deputy director in charge of GEP Ms Nora Driscoll, EMLYON CEO in Asia Mr Lee YANG, Academy director Mr. Ivy Trovey, and operation director Jacko XU, and 59 GEP students from 18 countries were present at the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zhang Gang, the vice president of School of Management.
Executive vice president Wu Xiaobo made a speech on behalf of School of Management, and extended a warm welcome to GEP students. In retrospect, he talked of his expect of Chinese GEP students to France, “DPRS”, that is, dream, passion, responsibility, and smile. He then proposed another one, naming C, which refers to challenge. He hopes that every student can stand up to challenges.
