Dr. Wang Zhikai Went to Pisa and Florence to Participate in International Conference of the Program of the China-Italy Regional Technology and Innovation Cooperation Week

 

From November 7- 13, 2010, Associate Professor Wang Zhikai from College of Economics went to Pisa and Florence to participate in International Conference of the program of China-Italy Regional Technology and Innovation Cooperation Week at the invitation of Santa Ana University of Pisa, Italy, Confucius Institute of Pisa, University of Florence, and the Innovation Department and regional UNDP of TOSCANA REGION. He issued a report on Urbanization and Regional Disparities Elimination in China in the international conference focusing on ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND REGIONAL DIFFERENTIATION IN CHINA: TRENDS AND OPPORTUNITIES.

Associate Professor Wang introduced the experiences of Hangzhou and the district of Xiaoshan in Urbanization and Regional Disparities Elimination, which aroused great interest and set a good example for disparities elimination in other regions of China and Italy, including the TOSCANA REGION.

Altogether there were more than 150 representatives participated in the program of the China-Italy Regional Technology and Innovation Cooperation Week, including Minister of China Science and Technology Department Wan Gang, directors of the Science and Technology Department for some provinces and cities, officials of the TOSCANA REGION, and Dr. CESARE ROMITI, the founder and President of Italy- China Foundation for Development and Cooperation.
