Since the BRIC has developed from an economic concept into a new international mechanism, there has been more and more bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Brazil, Russia, India and China. Institutionalized BRICs summit and the uniform voice it issues are exerting an increasing influence on the international community. The emerging countries represented by the BRICs, an important international mechanism, have become an important force in building the international order. On this International Symposium on the BRICs in the Transformation of International Order, scholars exchanged in-depth on theoretical and practical issues, such as the identity of the BRICs, the development and international order transformation of the BRICs, the relationship between BRIC countries, the institutionalization process and the prospects of the BRICs, BRICs and international economic development, and so on.

The scholars agreed that the conference was meaningful, and the papers presented were of very high academic standards, including much information on BRIC. The conference not only promoted Chinese scholars’ study on the BRIC, but also helped to promote the academic exchange and cooperation between Institute of International Relations, ZJU and the international relation institutions from home and abroad.
