December 29, 2010 is the centenary birthday of Professor Ronald Coase, founder of the New Institutional Economic. To celebrate centenary birthday of Coase, and to promote the research and practice of economic theory in China, the Unirule Institute of Economics, the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University, School of Management of Tsinghua University, Faculty of Social Sciences of Zhejiang University, Beijing National Economic Research Institute, Institute of Economic Research of Shandong University, Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University, Economics School of Fudan University, National Development Research Institute and Center for Law and Economics of Peking University, Global Center of Columbia University (East Asia) and other units jointly launched the academic symposium “Coase and China” at the end of December. This is the call for papers, which are open to appraise. Debate, breakthroughs and innovation are welcome, and the paper can focus on any of the following:
——the personality and experiences of Coase
——Coase's thought on transaction cost;
——Coase's thought on property right;
——Coase’s ideas on the nature of markets and business;
——the impact of Coase’s economics thought on institutional economics;
——application of Coase’s economic ideology in the economic, social, political, public administration, environment, climate change and other fields;
——the impact of Coase theory on reform in China;
——the impact of Coase thought on other scholars;
——comparative study of Coase thought and other schools of thought.
Accomplished scholars on Coase theory and new institutional economics will be invited. Active participation and contributions of young scholars, especially those in the economic, legal, and business circles are all welcome.
Please mark the conference papers with “Call for Papers on ‘Coase and China’” and send it by e-mail, fax, or mail to the Unirule Institute of Economics in Beijing. We will organize expert reviewers, and issue invitations to the participants in early December.
