On the afternoon of July 8, 2010, Professor Shi Jinchuan, Director of CRPE, received Miss Cui Baoyan from Institute for International Economic Policy of South Korea. Ms. Cui is a member of “China's regional market research group” of the Institute, who is especially responsible for research work in Zhejiang Province. The two sides exchanged on the investment and operation of Korean companies in China, particularly in Zhejiang Province. Professor Shi said: South Korea and Zhejiang Province are almost the same in terms of land area and population, but they differ a lot in the model of economic development. We have much to learn from Korea's economic development. From a research perspective, we are very concerned about three aspects: first, the upgrading of South Korea's industrial structure; second, the transformation of South Korea's foreign trade patterns; third, the relationship between small and medium financial structure and SMEs in South Korea. Ms. Cui said that she will bring the exchange and the economic development of Zhejiang Province back to her Institute, so as to increase mutual understanding, seek further academic exchanges, and carry out cooperative research activities.

Finally, Professor Shi presented Miss Cui with his empirical research series “Zhejiang Model”.
