Professor Masahisa Fujita, from Konan University, Honored to be Guangbiao Lecture Professor

 

On April 29, 2010, Ceremony of Professor Masahisa Fujita, world renowned in Spatial Economy, being Guangbiao Lecture Professor of Zhejiang University and his academic report were held in College of Economics, ZJU. The ceremony was hosted by Professor ZHAO Wei, director of the Institute of International Economy of Zhejiang University. LUO Weidong, vice president, LU Dongming, director of the Department of Personnel, SHI Jinchuang, dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, JIN Xiangrong, administrative vice dean of College of Economics, and some teachers and students attended the ceremony.

 

Professor ZHAO Wei made an introduction to the personal experiences and academic achievements Professor Masahisa Fujita has achieved. Vice President LUO Weidong presented Letter of Employment and expresses his congratulation. Professor Masahisa Fujita has visited ZhejiangUniversity for several times and has established a friendly cooperative relationship with ZJU. He was sincerely expected to promote the construction and development of the discipline of economics of ZhejiangUniversity, particularly the integration of Spatial Economy research of ZhejiangUniversity with international standard. Professor SHI Jinchuan and Professor JIN Xiangrong showed their respect for the great contribution Professor Masahisa Fujita has made to the scientific development and conveyed their sincere wish for future cooperation between the two universities. Later, Professor Masahisa Fujita made a brief speech of thanks and said that he was honored to be Guangbiao Lecture Professor of ZhejiangUniversity and honorary director of the Institute of International Economy of Zhejiang University and that he was eager for further cooperation with ZhejiangUniversity and to make a contribution to its development. 

 

After the ceremony, Professor Masahisa Fujita made an academic report, “New Global Economic Order and East Asia: an Analysis from the Perspective of Spatial Economy”, receiving great applause from present teachers and students.
