During the period from December 19, 2009 to December 21, 2009, professor Marietta Baba, dean of the Institute of Social Sciences of Michigan State University, professor Richard Hula, department head of Politics, and professor Jiaguo Qi, director of Center for Global Change and Earth Observation, paid a friendly visit to our university and carried out a discussion on the development of “3+X” project, the joint cultivation of graduates, teacher exchange visit, and research cooperation.
In the afternoon of December 20, the three professors visited College of Public Administration, ZJU, accompanied by Mr. YUE Wenze, a visit scholar at College of Public Administration, ZJU. Professor YU Xunda, vice dean of Faculty of Social Sciences and secretary of Party Working Committee, professor MAO Dan, vice dean of College of Public Administration and all department heads of College of Public Administration met with the American visitors and had a deep conversation. They put forward concrete and constructive suggestions and implementing measures concerning about student exchange, teacher exchange visit, and bilateral research projects and such.
In the night, the three professors and Mr. YUE Wenze made an introduction to “3+X” project for the students, and answered their questions. The students’ activity and fluent English greatly impressed the three visitors. At present, application for “3+X” project has begun.
In the morning of December 21, professor LUO Weidong, vice president and dean of Humanities and Social Sciences of ZJU, received the three professors, expressed warm welcome and further conveyed cooperation intention.
